DOVER, Del. – North Carolina Central University sophomore outside hitter
Emmie Modlin tallied a team-high 10.5 points during a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) conference loss at Delaware State University on Sunday afternoon.
Modlin (Pinehurst, N.C.) registered a team-best nine kills with a service ace and a block assist, while adding 12 digs and three assists for the Eagles.
Isa Dostal collected seven kills and a block assist for NCCU, while
Jeslyn Spencer posted four kills, two service aces, and a team-best 13 digs, and
Loren Johnson contributed nine digs, three service aces and three assists.
Delaware State (11-9, 4-2 MEAC) was led by Ella Sanders with six kills, three service aces, two solo blocks, and nine digs.
As a team, the host Hornets achieved a .306 hitting percentage, compared to .132 for the Eagles.
Up next, NCCU (2-13, 1-5 MEAC) travels to Orangeburg, S.C., to play South Carolina State University on Friday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m.
