Kennedy Hill won atop the North Carolina Central University women's tennis lineup in a 5-2 non-conference home loss to Fordham University on Saturday afternoon.

Houston notched her win in the marquee singles match, defeating junior Avery Aude in straight set scores of 6-4 and 6-2. Houston's third consecutive victory leveled her singles season record to 8-8.
Hill only needed to play one more game to secure her triumph just one court over as the rookie topped sophomore Eleni Fasoula by a 6-3, 6-4 margin. Hill (9-8) leads the Eagles with nine singles wins.
In the only singles match to go three sets, fifth-year senior Carlota Casasampere Escoda edged sophomore Maria Pizazo by a final tally of 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
Gaines was the last player to finish on Saturday in her 36th completed singles dual match for the maroon and gray over the past four years, despite missing matches due to injury and the coronavirus pandemic.
The Rams won both completed doubles matches and the bottom four singles contests to snap a two-match losing streak and improve their season record to 9-4.
NC Central (4-14 Overall) will next play at Longwood University on Tuesday, April 12 at 1:30 p.m.
