FARMVILLE, Va. – The Longwood University women's tennis team won all three completed matches in securing a 4-0 non-conference home win over visiting North Carolina Central University on Tuesday afternoon.
The Lancers had the advantage from the start as the Eagles made the just over two-hour trip north with just five active players. Longwood only needed to win one doubles match and two singles matches to complete the victory in a dual match that was contested to just clinch.
In an unfinished match, freshman
Isabelle Exsted picked up NCCU's lone set win of the day. Exsted was leading 6-3, 0-1 on court three when play was stopped after the Lancers secured the team triumph.
Longwood finished its regular season with an 8-13 record. The Lancers only lost three games in the three completed matches.
NC Central (4-15) will conclude its regular season with a rescheduled home match against Virginia State University on Sunday, April 24 at 1 p.m.
