Relive the Top 10 moments from the 2020-21 North Carolina Central University Athletics season each weekday during July 5-9.
NO. 10 – On Nov. 25, 2020, in the first sports competition for North Carolina Central University since COVID-19 shut down college athletics in March 2020, the NCCU women's basketball team rallied for a dramatic 70-65 road win in double-overtime to upset Campbell University, the reigning Big South Conference regular season champions.
NCCU senior guard
Kieche White scored four straight points in the second overtime session to give the Eagles a late five-point advantage, finishing with a game-highs of 21 points and five steals, to go along with eight rebounds.
It was NCCU's first game since a win in the quarterfinals of the 2020 MEAC Women's Basketball Tournament when the season ended suddenly due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Eagles had to wait 259 days before playing their next game, but they did not let that next chance go to waste, rallying from a 15-point deficit for the victory.
