NCCU Welcomes April Visser as Compliance Coordinator

DURHAM, N.C.The North Carolina Central University Department of Athletics has hired April Visser to serve as compliance coordinator.

Visser brings Div. I experience with her; from July 2024 to July 2025, she served as compliance coordinator at the University of Washington, where she managed over $20 million in financial aid and scholarships for student-athletes across 22 Div. I sports.

She also handled record-keeping in accordance with NCAA and institutional policies and worked across departments to resolve compliance-related issues.

In addition, Visser was the primary compliance contact for men's and women's golf.

Prior to that appointment, she served as a compliance intern at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she created educational content relating to NCAA rules, NIL policies, and recruiting guidance. She also assisted with financial aid and scholarship processing.

Visser holds two degrees from UNLV: a Bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies and a Master's in intercollegiate and professional sports management.

A softball student-athlete at both UNLV and N.C. State, Visser was a two-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete, and she was named All-America Scholar-Athlete by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Most recently, Visser served as Event Coordinator for Western Sports Park.
