STARTING FIVE:
1. LeVelle Moton is now the third coach in program history to reach 200 wins.
2. NCCU will play 11 of its 14 non-conference games away from home, and three of those at a neutral site.
3. NCCU will face six first-time opponents during the non-conference slate.
4. NCCU has gone 20-1 at home in non-conference games since 2016.
5. NCCU has four Big South opponents on the non-conference schedule.
 
SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' BULLDOGS
Gardner-Webb has hit a rough patch since the last meeting with NCCU, as the Runnin' Bulldogs have lost their last three.  Each of those three games have been decided by 10 points or fewer, including a three-point, 64-61 nailbiter against VMI at home.  D'Maurion Williams continues to lead GWU in scoring with 14.2 points per game, however Lance Terry put in a team-high 19 points last time out against VMI.  This is the second meeting between NCCU and GWU this season, and GWU took the first matchup, 83-58 on Nov. 29 in Boiling Springs, N.C.

RUNNING EAGLES
NCCU has turned defensive into offense multiple times in 2019-20, highlighted by the Eagles holding Florida A&M scoreless for the final 8:37 of a tied game to spark a 16-0 run on the way to a 61-45 win to start league play.  NCCU brought that same intensity to its 2021-22 home opener against Warren Wilson as the Eagles started the game with an 18-0 run in the first 3:39.  Below is a look at the Eagles' best scoring runs within the past few seasons.

ON THE WRIGHT PATH
Sophomore guard Justin Wright has taken a big step forward in his second season, and broke out for 10.3 points per contest during a four-game stretch from Dec. 1-9 that culminated in a career-high 20 points against Carver on Dec. 9.  He also averaged 4.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per outing, and shot 40.0 percent from the floor, and 80.0 percent from the free throw line during the run.
