North Carolina Central University Athletics

As a Sophomore (2021-22)
Became the youngest Eagle to be named First Team All-MEAC, earning the honor as a sophomore.  Appeared in 28 games with 18 starts, and played 26.5 minutes per game.  Led the Eagles in scoring with 13.7 points per game, and shot 49.6 percent from the floor with 4.3 boards per game.  In league play, he posted a MEAC-best 20.1 points, and dropped 20+ points seven times in 11 games.  Scored over 20 points eight times in total.  Collected a career-high 32 points in a wild overtime win over Delaware State, and hit a three-pointer with three seconds remaining in regulation to force the added period (Feb. 19).  Named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week on Dec. 27 after averaging 6.5 rebounds and 9.5 points per game at the Sun Bowl Invitational against Sam Houston and UTEP.  Scored in double digits 13 times in the final 14 games of the season.

As a Freshman (2020-21)
Played 12 games with three starts.  Totaled 16 points, 19 rebounds, eight assists, and nine steals in 66 minutes of action.  Earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors on Feb. 2 after he reached season highs of 12 points, six rebounds, and six assists in 24 minutes against Carver on Jan. 29.  Made his first career start on the road at North Carolina A&T on Feb. 27.

High School (Farmville Central): Was a member of a potent Farmville Central squad that won 42 consecutive games, including a NCHSAA 2A State Championship in 2019.  Was named MVP of that championship game with 22 points, eight assists and six rebounds.  Tallied 24.7 points per game with 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.5 steals per contest as a senior.  Named first-team all-state and the District 3 player of the year by the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association that year as well. Received multiple all-state, all-area, and all-conference honors. 

Academically, he was a member of the National Honor Society and A/B honor roll all four years.

Personal: Born in Greenville, North Carolina.  Mother is Tanya Ann Wright.  Loves watching action movies and having fun with his friends.  Currently undecided on a major at NCCU.
