DOVER, Del. – Senior middle Blocker/outside hitter
Ammaarah Williams led the North Carolina Central University volleyball team in kills for a fourth straight match, but the Eagles were unable to end a long win streak for the hosts as Delaware State University prevailed 3-0 in a battle of two previously unbeaten Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference programs Friday evening.
The Hornets (17-1 Overall, 5-0 MEAC) has won 13 straight matches and remained undefeated at home at 10-0. The Eagles (4-9, 3-1) had their three-match win streak snapped.
Williams topped the maroon and gray with eight kills. She also had a solo block and a block assist for 9.5 points. Fellow senior middle blocker
McKayla Young followed with 5.5 points (4 kills, 1.5 blocks).
Two-time reigning MEAC setter of the Week sophomore
Lauren Janok finished with a season-low 18 assists, but she missed portions of the contest after falling near the net in the first set.

Alyssa Pieh secured her fifth straight double-digit dig performance with 10 digs.
In the first set, DSU converted on over half of its attack attempts to win by 12 points. The Hornets hit .457 in the first frame. A couple of blocks by Williams helped NCCU to an early 7-6 lead in the middle stanza, but Delaware State scored the next seven points to start a closing 19-5 run. The Eagles were attempting to force a fourth set with the score deadlocked at 19-all late in the third, but junior Karen Cordero supplied her final two kills late as the Hornets completed the sweep.
Cordero led all players with 16 points. She hit .625 for the victors as DSU finished with a .327 hitting percentage as a team.
NC Central will conclude its three-match MEAC road swing at University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday at 1 p.m.
