DURHAM, N.C. – On Aug. 11, 2011, North Carolina Central University received a letter from the NCAA confirming the university's active membership in Division I athletics. To commemorate this historic occasion, former NCCU Director of Athletics Bill Hayes and current AD Dr. Ingrid Wicker McCree, two of the driving forces behind the transition to Division I, will be featured in the 10th Anniversary Celebration Series Kickoff via Zoom on Aug. 11 at 6 p.m.
 
This live video session will be the first of many during the year-long anniversary celebration. As the Eagles enter their 10th season of Division I competition, the NCCU Department of Athletics will pay tribute to past student-athletes, coaches and administrators, and flash back to significant moments during the transition and DI era.
