GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina Central University's six-game win streak was ended after a slow start allowed North Carolina A&T pull ahead early, leading to a 77-60 win for the Aggies on Monday, Feb. 17 at the Corbett Center.
NCAT (13-14, 9-3 MEAC) forced NCCU (12-13, 8-3 MEAC) into early turnovers and held the Eagles without a field goal through the first five minutes of the contest. The Aggies built a 20-point lead at the half, and while the Eagles outscored the hosts in the second period, NCAT was able to withstand the push.
C.J. Keyser (Baltimore, Md.) scored a team-high 20 points for the Eagles in his first game back from injury, and
Deven Palmer (Hyde Park, Mass.) pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds.
Jordan Perkins (Greensboro, N.C.) served up six assists with nine points as well.
Kameron Langley (Greensboro, N.C.) earned a triple-double for NCAT with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists, and Ronald Jackson (Clay County, Fla.) scored a game-high 28 points.
NCCU will celebrate its Senior Day on Saturday, Feb. 22 against Maryland Eastern Shore at 4:00 p.m. inside McDougald-McLendon Arena, following the women's basketball contest at 2:00 p.m.
