TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – North Carolina Central University was held to just three baserunners by Florida A&M as the Rattlers picked up a 3-0 win on Friday, May 3 at Moore Kittles Field.
The game remained deadlocked through the first two innings until FAMU (19-28, 11-8 MEAC) scored two in the top of the third. That would be all FAMU needed as NCCU (19-25, 10-11 MEAC) was held to just two hits and one walk for the game.
Carter Williams (Brown Summit, N.C.) and
Myles Coston (Pittsburg, Calif.) both knocked singles, and
Nick Fajardo (Durham, N.C.) drew a walk. Those are the only batters that got past Kyle Coleman (St. Cloud, Fla.) as he went the distance with eight strikeouts for the Rattlers.
Game two of the weekend series is scheduled for Saturday, May 4 at 1:00 p.m.
