TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – North Carolina Central University and Florida A&M both collected six hits, but the Rattlers were able to get theirs with runners on base on the way to a 4-2 win in the series opener on Friday, March 30 at Moore-Kittles Field.

FAMU (12-17, 5-2 MEAC) score the first three runs of the game, and led 3-0 after three innings until NCCU (19-9, 6-4 MEAC) responded with an RBI double from
Evan Holland (Erial, N.J.) in the top of the fifth inning to drive in
Timmy Fischvogt (Kernersville, N.C.).

Corey Joyce (Lexington, N.C.),
Dominic Cuevas (Gurnee, Ill.), and Holland were the only three batters to reach base twice during the contest as Joyce singled and walked during the game, and Holland was hit by a pitch and came around to score a run.  Holland was driven in by Cuevas, who reached on an error in the eighth inning for the second run for NCCU.

FAMU didn't have a batter with a multi-hit stat line either, however Kaycee Reese (Tallahassee, Fla.) singled and walked twice for the hosts.  Dylan Carlson (Tallahassee, Fla.) closed the game for the Rattlers and earned his third save of the year.
