Polina Sakharova won their third straight match to claim the lone win for the North Carolina Central University women's tennis team in a 7-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division loss to visiting North Carolina A&T State University Wednesday afternoon.
Rogers and Sakharova leveled their doubles record to 4-4 by winning atop NCCU's lineup. They knocked off senior Khalia Powell and junior Fabiana Ramirez by a 6-3 margin to level doubles play at 1-all.
The Aggies claimed the first doubles match with a 6-2 win by junior Angelica Martinez and sophomore Kanishka before North Carolina A&T securing the first team point on the middle court.

Maru Berghaus forced a tiebreaker in the decisive doubles match, but senior Nadia Hilton-Adams and sophomore Renata Ruiz Rabadan took the race to seven points, 7-3, to sneak out the 7-6 win.
NCAT (1-15 Overall, 1-3 MEAC) sealed its first win of the season with straight-set victories in the upper half of its singles lineup. Ramirez (6-3, 6-2), Martinez (6-4, 6-2) and Powell (6-0, 6-1) notched the wins from positions 1-3, respectively.
In the tightest singles match, Hilton-Adams rallied past Miller in a superset after losing the first set. Her comeback was by a final score of 3-6, 6-4, 10-4.
The Aggies completed the sweep with both Ruiz Rabadan (6-1, 6-0) and Chawla (6-0, 6-1) only losing one game apiece in their two bottom slots the NCAT order.
NCCU (0-13, 0-3) next visits Gardner-Webb University on Saturday at 2 p.m.
