DURHAM, N.C. — The Radford University women's tennis team posted a 7-0 non-conference victory over host North Carolina Central University on Thursday afternoon at the NCCU Tennis Courts.
 
The Highlanders improved to 2-1 while the Lady Eagles remained winless at 0-4.
 
The top draw proved to provide fans with the closest match of the day. Sophomore Drouslie Dzeubou gutted out a straight-set victory over senior Jamie Rogers. Dzeubou needed a 7-2 tiebreaker win to prevent a third set in her 6-3, 7-6 triumph.
 
Senior No. 2 Natalie Sayer and freshman No. 4 Tyler Blalock secured flawless 6-0, 6-0 wins against NCCU's freshman Maru Berghaus and sophomore Emily Pena, respectively. Freshman No. 3 Lotti Meszaros prevailed over sophomore Sofia Miller and fellow freshman Jeanine Acierto defeated senior Lauren Mullis by matching 6-1, 6-0 scores.
 
Acierto, Blalock and Sayer all improved to 2-0 in dual matches for the Highlanders.
 
Radford only lost one game in the two doubles matches. Sayer and Blalock toppled Rogers and Berghaus, 6-1, while Dzeubou and Meszaros improved to 3-0 on the season with a clean 6-0 win over Miller and Pena.
 
NCCU will have nearly two weeks to prepare for its next match when the Lady Eagles visit Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m.
