London Thompson paced North Carolina Central University to an 85-43 exhibition win over Johnson & Wales (Charlotte) University on Tuesday evening in McDougald-McLendon Arena with 15 points apiece.
Ten different Eagles scored as NCCU treated its fans to a bunch of points.
Martin and Thompson both hit a trio of 3-pointers on the way to their 15-point performances. Martin also had three steals and three assists while Thompson flirted with a double-double with a team-high eight rebounds. Senior
Caira Benton was a third Lady Eagle to reach double-digit points with 10 points.
NCCU jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first two minutes and never trailed. Martin started the scoring with two made free throws and she hit a three-pointer in the initial surge. The Preseason All-MEAC honoree led all players with 11 points at halftime.
The Eagles held a 29-12 advantage after 10 minutes of play. NCCU's defense intensified, holding the Wildcats to just four points in the second quarter, to increase its halftime cushion to 26 points at 42-16.
Thompson and Benton both scored eight points in the second half and the maroon and gray shot 48-percent after the intermission to nearly double-up the visitors with the 42-point triumph.

Kasey topped NCCU's passers with six assists as the Eagles shot 44-percent for the contest.
The hosts outrebounded JWU by 13 at 49-36 and only committed 12 turnovers to 28 by the Wildcats.
Johnson & Wales junior forward Ineesha Hankerson led all players with 21 points and nine rebounds.
NC Central opens its season at High Point University on Friday at 7 p.m.
