2017 Elon University Fall Women's Tennis Invititational Results

ELON, N.C. – Senior Jamie Rogers and freshman Polina Sakharova won a pair of doubles matches together to highlight play for three North Carolina Central University individuals competing in the Elon University Women's Tennis Fall Invitational at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Central from Friday-Sunday, Sept. 15-17.
 
Rogers and Sakharova advanced to the championship match of the Phoenix bracket with their two wins.
 
The duo started off with an 8-6 victory over a duo from UNCG. Rogers and Sakharova then added an 8-3 win in the semifinals over a mixed tandem from UNCW and Appalachian State. They were eliminated in the finals to a Coastal Carolina duo by an 8-3 margin.
 
Rogers competed in the singles Powell Flight while Sakharova and fellow freshman Maruschka Berghaus made their collegiate debuts in the singles Phoenix Flight.
 
All three Lady Eagles went 0-2 in singles play.
 
NCCU next travels to Greenville, North Carolina, for the East Carolina University Invitational at the River Birch Tennis Center on Friday-Saturday, Sept. 22-23.
