Pablo Juez Torres won both of their singles and doubles matches to highlight play for host North Carolina Central University in a 4-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division men's tennis loss to visiting Florida A&M late Friday afternoon.
The reptile mascotted team from the Sunshine State had to battle windy and cold conditions in order to survive the close affair at the NCCU Tennis Courts. The Rattlers improved to 6-11 overall and 1-1 in the MEAC while the Eagles dipped to 6-13 and 1-2.

Sebastian Bromley claimed the first maroon and gray tandem win on court three by a 6-3 score before Callegari and freshman
Theofanis Kontopoulos picked up other No. 2 win by a margin of 6-4.
Callegari and Kontopoulos pace the Eagles with a 9-5 doubles ledger.
Callegari netted NCCU's marquee win by outlasting a reigning All-MEAC honoree in Karlyn Small at No. 3 singles by a close tally of 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. The Italian moved within one win of a .500 record at 9-10.
Juez Torres continued his late-season surge with a 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (10-5) victory at No. 6 singles. All three of his singles wins in his rookie season has come in his last five trips onto the court.
FAMU won the other four singles bouts in straight sets to narrowly clinch the team triumph.
NCCU hosts its final home match on Saturday against Bethune-Cookman at 1 p.m.
