BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell University men's tennis team secured a 4-0 non-conference home win on its Senior Day over visiting North Carolina Central University Thursday afternoon at the James R. Nisbet Tennis Center.
The Camels won all completed matches to finish its impressive regular season at 18-4. The Eagles will enter postseason play at 7-14.
Three Eagles had a chance at scoring points for the visitors, but all three contests were stopped after the team result was decided, as agreed upon by both teams prior to the start of the match.

Gabriel Cucalon was closing in on what would have been his team-high 13th win as he was leading his unfinished match 6-2, 4-3. Freshman No. 2

Pablo Juez Torres (0-6, 5-2) was rallying to lead his second set in the other two unfinished bouts.
Campbell coasted on courts three, four and five to complete the team triumph. The Camels opened up play with 6-3 and 6-4 victories in the first two doubles tilts.

Brooks Campbell were in a tight affair in the final doubles match when it was stopped after the doubles team point was garnered by the Camels.
NCCU has qualified for the 2017 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Tennis Championships that will be contested from April 20-22 in Norfolk, Virginia. The Eagles will be the No. 3 seed from the Southern Division and will play the No. 2 seed from the Northern Division in the quarterfinals. The full tournament schedule, including seeding is expected to be announced by the league office on Monday after all conference regular season matches have been played.
