ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The South Carolina State University women's tennis team won all nine matches played to remain undefeated in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Southern Division with a 7-0 victory over visiting North Carolina Central University at the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center Wednesday afternoon.
The Lady Bulldogs, who are the defending MEAC champions, improved to 2-6 on the season and 2-0 in league skirmishes. The Lady Eagles were unable to win on consecutive days, slipping to 1-10 overall and 1-1 in conference action.

Emily Pena had the best showing for the maroon and gray. They both won their first set before falling in three sets. Oleksandra Filippova rallied past Cover for a 0-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory while Claudia Pena fought back against Pena for a 2-6, 6-4, 10-6 triumph.
SCSU won the other four singles matches in straight sets after sweeping doubles by only losing six games.
NCCU returns home to host University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday, March 18 at 1 p.m.
