DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team will try and build of its first road win of the season and move up the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) standings with a pair of home games against South Carolina State University (Saturday at 2 p.m.) and Florida A&M University (Monday at 5:30 p.m.).
NCCU will provide pay-per-view video ($8.95) of both games along with free audio and live stats. NCCU Sports Network broadcaster Mike Wood will be on air with the play-by-play. Fans can follow NCCU women's basketball all season by visiting

Monday's game will serve as a Pink Game for the Lady Eagles in their support of the WBCA's commitment to the Play4Kay Cancer Fund that raises money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. The team will be wearing pink uniforms and fans are encouraged to show their support by wearing pink as well.

N.C. Central Women's Basketball
The Lady Eagles knocked off Coppin State University, 58-46, in Baltimore, Maryland, on Monday to jump ahead of South Carolina State in the league standings. NCCU (4-17 Overall, 3-6 MEAC) is 3-7 at home.
Senior
Morgan Jones matched her career-high point total in the win over CSU, pouring in 25 points. Jones, who was just named a CoSIDA Academic All-District award winner for a second straight year earlier in the week, leads the Lady Eagles with 12. 2 points and 1.9 steals per game.
A couple other guards also had big games in their last outing. Sophomore
Dominique Adams scored a career-high 17 points and senior
Chantal Thomas matched her career-high with seven assists. Adams is second on the team with both 6.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Thomas paces the Lady Eagles with 2.1 assists per contest. Sophomore
Deja McCain is NCCU's top rebounder with 5.5 boards per game.
NCCU lost a 58-51 road decision to South Carolina State last season. Jones led the Lady Eagles in that contest with 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
Florida A&M knocked off NCCU twice in 2016-17 by scores of 69-54 (Durham, N.C.) and 55-45 (Tallahassee, Fla.). Jones and Thomas both poured in a dozen points in their home performance against the Rattlers.
South Carolina State Women's Basketball
The Lady Bulldogs have lost their last three games, including a narrow 51-50 setback to Hampton University on Monday. South Carolina State (5-16 Overall, 2-8 MEAC) is 2-10 on the road.
Senior guard Bryeasha Blair ranks second in the MEAC in scoring with 16.9 points per game. SCSU has only one other double-digit scorer in junior Brittany Drumgoole, who nets 11.1 points per game and supplies a team-high 2.4 assists per contest. Junior forward Jahmia Bradley is ninth in the league with 6.7 rebounds per game.
Bradley, who is averaging 7.8 points per game this season, led the Lady Bulldogs to last year's seven-point win over NCCU with 13 points.
Florida A&M Women's Basketball
The Rattlers are one of the hottest teams in the MEAC, having won five straight games. FAMU (8-15 Overall, 6-4 MEAC) will play at North Carolina A&T State University on Saturday before visiting NCCU on Monday.
Junior transfer Shakerrya Morrison is pulling down an impressive 9.3 rebounds per game for the league's top rebounding team (+3.9 rebounding margin). Morrison is also tied for the team lead in scoring with senior Florence Ouattara, who are both tallying 8.1 points per game.
Junior Dawn King had a big game for the Rattlers in their last win against NCCU, scoring 15 points in the 15-point win.
