DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team will begin Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action with a pair of home games against Delaware State University on Monday at 5:30 p.m. and University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
NCCU is planning to provide pay-per-view video ($8.95) of the game along with free audio and live stats. NCCU Sports Network broadcaster Mike Wood will be on air with the play-by-play. Fans can follow NCCU women's basketball all season by visiting

N.C. Central Women's Basketball
The Lady Eagles are coming off a 68-58 home loss to USC Upstate on Tuesday. NCCU (1-11 Overall, 0-0 MEAC) has lost nine consecutive games and was picked 13th in the MEAC Preseason Poll.
Senior guard
Morgan Jones has led NCCU in scoring in five of the last seven games and paces the squad with 10.5 points per game. Jones has reached double-digit scoring eight times this season and is bucketing 1.5 three-pointers per contest.
Sophomore forward
Deja McCain tops NCCU's post play with 6.1 points per game and a team-high 5.2 rebounds per contest.
Sophomore guard
Dominique Adams and freshman guard
Jada Blow are both averaging nearly seven points per game. Adams, who is leading the MEAC with 35.8 minutes played per game, is also grabbing 4.8 rebounds per contest. Blow tops the lady Eagles with 2.1 assists per game.
NCCU edged Maryland Eastern Shore, 49-46, in its MEAC opener last season with Jones providing 15 points and four steals. Senior
Chantal Thomas, who is coming off a 12-point performance against the USCU Spartans, also had 11 points in that contest. MDES is 9-2 all-time against NCCU.
The Lady Eagles were hand a 66-56 loss to Delaware State in Dover last season. Adams and Jones highlighted play for NCCU with 14 and 12 points, respectively. DSU is 4-2 all-time against NCCU.
Maryland Eastern Shore Women's Basketball
The Hawks are the only league team to enter MEAC play with a winning record despite losing their last two non-conference games to Virginia and USC Upstate to end 2016. Maryland Eastern Shore (6-5 Overall, 0-0 MEAC) was picked fourth in the MEAC preseason poll.
MDES is the highest scoring team in the conference (65.8 points per game). Sophomore guard Ciani Byrom was a MEAC All-Rookie selection last year, and is pacing the Hawks with 15.1 points per game (5th in the MEAC) and 4.7 assists per game (2nd in the MEAC).
Junior guard Moengaroa Subritzky has earned All-MEAC postseason honors each of her first two seasons, including First Team All-MEAC last year. She has continued her stellar play with 12.5 points per game, including 2.5 made 3-pointers per contest, and a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game.
Subritzky and Byrom both scored eight points in last year's meeting against NCCU.
Delaware State Women's Basketball
The Hornets have lost nine straight games after suffering a 72-51 home loss to Cornell on Thursday. Delaware State (1-12 Overall, 0-0 MEAC) was picked 11th in the MEAC preseason poll and will play at North Carolina A&T State University on Saturday before tipping off against the Lady Eagles.
Reigning MEAC Rookie of the Year NaJai Pollard has showed no signs of a sophomore slump as the forward leads the league in both scoring and rebounding with 18.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per contest. Pollard is shooting 55.8-percent from the field and is fourth in the conference with 2.0 blocks per game.
Junior guard Mikah Aldridge is the Hornets other double-digit scorer with 13.5 points per game. Aldridge also tops DSU with nearly two steals per contest.
Pollard led Delaware State past NCCU last season with a double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds. Senior guard Aaliyah Davis also had a strong showing with 11 points and 10 assists.
