Box ScoreNEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The North Carolina Central University men's tennis team won the top four singles matches to rally for a dramatic 4-3 road win at fellow Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) member Hampton University contested at the Centre Court Racquet Club Saturday afternoon.

Davide Callegari clinched the Eagles team victory with a dramatic triumph in three sets.
The Pirates jumped ahead, 1-nil, with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles and a forfeit win at No. 3 doubles.
Kilumets and Persico did prevail in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (8-6), for their second straight doubles wins in the middle match.
Cucalon was the only NCCU straight-set victor that did not need a tiebreaker to win his match in a 7-5, 6-2 conquest on the second court. Cucalon moved over .500 on the season at 8-7.
Kilumets (6-9) won his third consecutive match by a 7-6 (4), 6-3 score and Persico (2-11) got in the win column by a 6-4, 7-6 (5) margin.
Hampton (4-9) won the bottom two singles bouts to make things interesting until Callegari (6-9) stepped up to win his seesaw affair by a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 tally.
NCCU (3-12) has won two straight matches and Saturday's win over the Pirates was the Eagles first road success of the campaign.
