Fabrice George won both his singles and doubles match to highlight play for visiting North Carolina Central University in a 6-1 conquest of host Howard University on Saturday afternoon at the Banneker Tennis Courts.
The Eagles won on consecutive days over Northern Division opposition from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) to return home at 5-6. The Bison drop to 1-7.
George teamed up with fellow senior
Daniil Gerasimov to win the top doubles match 8-3. Howard forfeited the third doubles slot which gave NCCU the first team point.
George, who improved to 5-1 in doubles with Gerasimov, rolled to the easiest singles triumph for the Eagles with a dominating 6-1, 6-3 performance in the fourth position in the lineup. The Kingstown, Saint Vincent, product garnered his first solo win of the season with the straight-set 'W'.

William East won by matching 6-1, 6-4 scores at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Sophomore
Kyle Hairston picked up his second consecutive win with a 6-3, 6-2 success in the fifth flight. HU also forfeited the final singles match with an active roster of five.
Gerasimov (9-1) won his ninth consecutive match and East (7-4) has won the last six times he has taken the court in singles action.
Reigning MEAC Rookie of the Year in sophomore Ismael Kaouache kept the Bison from being shutout with a straight-set win in top singles match.
NCCU will next play Norfolk State University in a rescheduled match on Tuesday.
