DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team will opening up Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play with a chance at revenge playing the same team that knocked the Lady Eagles out of the 2015 MEAC Tournament in March when NCCU hosts the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Fans, who cannot attend the game in McDougald-McLendon Arena, can follow the game online with live video (PPV) and audio (free) available on the NCCU Sports Network. Jonathan Duran and Mike Wood will be on the air with the play-by-play. NCCU sports information will also provide live stats.

Morgan Jones scored a season-high 13 points. Dixon leads the Lady Eagles with 12.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Jones is second in scoring with 7.2 points per game and is followed by junior classmates
Monique Whaley-Briggs (6.0) and
Chantal Thomas (5.4). NCCU is coming off its best performance of the season, scoring a season-high 52 points with its best field goal percentage (34.4%) and fewest turnovers (17). The Lady Eagles have won the battle of the boards in each of their last three games. Freshman
Dominique Adams adds 6.0 rebounds per game.
UMES is 2-4 with home wins against USC Upstate and Cheyney and losses to Georgetown, Northeastern, Xavier and Mount St. Mary's. Senior graduate student Alexis Udoji, who is averaging 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.3 steals per game, is the reigning MEAC Defensive Player of the Year. The Lady Hawks offense is led by senior TeAmber Burke (12.7 points/game) and sophomore Moengaroa Subritzky (11.0). Freshman Ciani Byrom is netting 9.7 points per game and has earned MEAC Rookie of the Week laurels twice already. UMES' top four scorers all average over 1.5 made 3-pointers per game as the Lady Hawks lead the MEAC from behind the arc making 7.2 triples per game.
