DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team will make the approximate 1,200 mile journey to Lincoln to face a perennial NCAA Tournament participant when the Lady Eagles play the University of Nebraska on Saturday at 3 PM (Eastern Time)/2 PM (Central Time).
The Huskers, who are receiving 23 votes in the current USA Today Coaches' Poll, will be hosting their third consecutive game inside Pinnacle Bank Arena when Nebraska tips off against NCCU.

Tisha Dixon turned in a 14-point, 9-rebound, 4 steal performance but 21 team turnovers cost the Lady Eagles their first loss in an opener since 2012. Dixon matched her career-high scoring output by pouring in 14 points of 5 of 11 shooting precision. Junior
Morgan Jones contributed eight points, five rebounds and five assists. The Lady Eagles, who will be playing their first road game Saturday, were just 1-15 in away contests last season. Seven players made their NCCU debut from off the bench Monday while five letter winners started.
NEBRASKA is 2-0 with dominating home wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (96-46) and North Florida (91-46). The Huskers, who have advanced to the NCAA Tournament each of the last four years, are receiving votes in the current USA Today Coaches' Poll and their 23 votes ranks them 31st overall in the others receiving votes section. Forward Jessica Shepard is the reigning Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Week and is averaging a double-double with 25.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Shepard was the No. 1 ranked high school post player by ESPN in 2014-15. Sophomore guard Natalie Romeo follows with 18.5 points per game and senior guard Rachel Theriot -- a 2014 Associated Press All-American (HM) -- has averaged 11.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in 90 career games for the Huskers.
