RALEIGH, N.C. - North Carolina Central University opened its spring campaign against nationally-ranked North Carolina State University, as the No. 28 Wolfpack proved to be too much for the Eagles in a 7-0 sweep inside the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on Sunday evening.
NCCU senior
Daniil Gerasimov was the closest Eagle to winning a set, taking his opponent at No. 2 singles to a second set 7-5 result.
In doubles, Gerasimov and playing partner
Fabrice George were ahead 5-4 before the match was stopped when NC State clinched the doubles point with victories at Nos. 1 and 3.
Things don't get any easier for NCCU, as up next for the Eagles are the sixth-ranked UNC Tar Heels on Feb. 4.
