NCCU MEN’S TENNIS BLANKS VIRGINIA STATE, 9-0

PETERSBURG, Va.- The North Carolina Central University men's tennis team earn its second-straight victory as the Eagles knocked off their second Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) opponent sweeping the Virginia State Trojans 9-0 on Saturday, April 12 in Petersburg, Va.
 
NCCU battled through doubles play earning all three victories over the Trojans.
 
Daniil Gerasimov and Stephan Charles-Donatien beat Matthew and Nicholas Brown 8-3 at the No.1, William East and Tamina Kienka retired Nicholas Prab and Evan Dirksen at the two spot 8-1 and Fabrice George and Thomas Persico were victorious over VSU's No. 3 duo of Delwin McCurdy and K'Wmane Tonkins, 8-4.
 
Leading the Trojans 3-0 NCCU earned all six singles points giving them the 9-0 victory.
 
No. 1 Gerasimov beat M. Brown (6-0, 7-5), Charles-Donatien knocked off Nicholas Brown at the No. 2 (6-3, 6-4, 10-2), East won the No. 3 spot over Pfab (6-1, 6-0), VSU's Dirksen fell to George (6-1, 6-0), Persico beat Tonkins (6-1, 6-1) at the No. 5 and Kyle Hairston earned the No. 6 victory over McCurdy (6-3, 6-3).
