DURHAM, N.C. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball 2018 recruiting class lands three on post-season all-star teams during the 2013-14 season.
Imani Atkinson (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro Day School) will participate in the Upward North Carolina Private School All-Star basketball game, Maya Jackson (Florence, S.C./West Florence H.S.) was named a member on the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association North-South All-Star basketball team and Kierona Morton (Wayne, N.J./Passaic County Technical Institute) will play in the NJSIAA (New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association) North-South All-Star Basketball Classic.
Providence Day School will host the 2014 Upward North Carolina Private School All-Star Basketball Game on Saturday, March 8.
More than 100 players were nominated by head coaches and athletic directors from across the state of North Carolina. Selection committees narrowed the rosters down to 24 players in each game that represent all classifications and regions of the state.
The girls' game includes six players that have already signed to play at the college level, including NCCU's Atkinson who will play on the "East" team and McDonald's All-American Jatarie White, who is the reigning N.C. Gatorade Player of the Year and has signed to play next season at the University of South Carolina joining the "West" side of the court.
The games will take place in Mosack Athletic Center on the campus of Providence Day School starting at 1 p.m.
West Florence High School's second leading scorer and top shot blocker, Jackson was named to the class 4A All-State team following the 2013-14 season and invited to the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association North-South All-Star Basketball game on Saturday, March 22 at 3 p.m. at Lexington High School.
Morton wraps up her high school career as a member of the annual NJSIAA North-South All-Star Basketball Classic, which will be held on March 18 at Rider University's Alumni Gym. The event starts at 2:30 p.m. in Lawrence Township, N.J.
