NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The North Carolina Central University men's tennis team (1-5) dropped a 7-0 sweep to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) northern division Norfolk State Spartans (3-3) on Sunday, Feb. 23 in Newport News, Va., at the Centre Court Racquet Club.

Leading the Eagles 1-0, the Spartans captured six-straight singles victories giving them the clean sweep over NCCU.
Eagle rookie
William East put up a fight against Ramstromer-Pello in the No. 4 singles, forcing a tiebreaker, before he was defeated 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
NCCU returns to the courts Friday, Feb. 28 as the Eagles open home action at 1 p.m., when they welcome the Winston-Salem State Rams to the NCCU Tennis Courts.
