Game Notes (PDF)BLACKSBURG, VA. – The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team continues non-conference road action as the Lady Eagles travel to Blacksburg, Virginia, to face Athletic Coast Conference (ACC) foe Virginia Tech, Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the Cassell Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Lady Eagles (2-6, 0-2 MEAC) are currently on a three-game losing streak, most recently falling at Howard (Dec. 8), 70-65. The Hokies are fresh off a 74-42 home victory over Longwood (Dec. 6).
LEADERSRacquel Davis (Brooklyn, New York) currently leads NCCU in nearly every category as she is the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's only player to average a double-double with 17.1 points and 10.0 boards. The 6-0 senior also heads the Lady Eagles with 1.3 blocks per contest and is accompanied by her fellow seniors
Rachel Williams (Rancho Cucamonga, California) and
Khyra Conerly (Oakland, California) who drops 1.8 dimes a game and collects 1.9 steals respectively.
Rachel Camp leads VT with 15.2 points per game, while Regan Magarity anchors the Hokies defensively with 10.6 boards and 1.6 blocks. Vanessa Panousis who currently plays the most minutes for VT (33.9) also leads the team with 3.6 assists per outing.
SERIESThe Hokies hold the 3-0 series advantage over NCCU dating back to 2008, with all three contests on the road for the Lady Eagles. During the last meeting (Dec. 11, 2011), Virginia Tech downed NCCU 70-52 in Blacksburg, Virginia, as the Lady Eagles were led by Chasidy Williams' 12 points.

Racquel Davis collected a career-best 29 points and career-high 19 rebounds during a home loss to Winthrop on Nov. 22, averaging 23.5 points per game and 18.0 rebounds for the week, earning her MEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors (Dec. 1)
Sophomore duo
Morgan Jones (Stockbrdige, Georgia) and
Tia Clement (Winston-Salem, North Carolina) earned career-best scoring performances at Campbell, as Jones tied her 14 points scored at WCU, and Clement put up a career-high 10 points, shooting 3-for-5 from behind the arc.
Senior
Khyra Conerly (Oakland, California) earned the season-first MEAC Player of the Week honors, following the 2014-15 opening week, the league announced Monday, Nov. 17 while also grabbing College Sports Madness MEAC Player of the Week honors after week one.
NCCU returns 8 letterwinners and three starters this season from a squad that went 11-19 overall in 6-10 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play, finishing ninth in the regular season a year ago.

Vanessa Taylor enters her third season at NCCU and holds a 14-47 career record with the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles were picked to finish tenth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference preseason poll by the league's coaches and sports information directors.
After being named to the 2013-14 MEAC third-team, Davis was selected to repeat on the pre-season All-MEAC Third Team.
