SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team continues road action Sunday, Dec. 14 as the Lady Eagles take on their second top-25 team of the season, and second consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) foe, traveling to Syracuse, New York, to Battle the No. 20/22 Syracuse Orange at 12 p.m., in the Carrier Dome.
The Lady Eagles (2-7, 0-2 MEAC) are currently on a four-game losing streak, most recently falling at Virginia Tech (Dec. 10), 80-44 in Blacksburg, Virigina. In its last contest, Syracuse defeated Penn State, 61-39, on Dec. 4 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
LEADERSRacquel Davis (Brooklyn, New York) currently leads NCCU in nearly every category with 15.7 points and 9.2 boards. The 6-0 senior also heads the Lady Eagles with 1.2 blocks per contest and is accompanied by her fellow seniors
Rachel Williams (Rancho Cucamonga, California) and
Khyra Conerly (Oakland, California) who drops 1.6 dimes a game and collects 2.1 steals respectively.
Sophomore center Briana Day currently leads the team in rebounding, averaging 11.4 boards per game. In addition, she ranks third on the team in scoring, tallying 11.7 points per contest.

Racquel Davis collected a career-best 29 points and career-high 19 rebounds during a home loss to Winthrop on Nov. 22, averaging 23.5 points per game and 18.0 rebounds for the week, earning her MEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors (Dec. 1)
Sophomore duo
Morgan Jones (Stockbrdige, Georgia) and
Tia Clement (Winston-Salem, North Carolina) earned career-best scoring performances at Campbell, as Jones tied her 14 points scored at WCU, and Clement put up a career-high 10 points, shooting 3-for-5 from behind the arc.
Senior
Khyra Conerly (Oakland, California) earned the season-first MEAC Player of the Week honors, following the 2014-15 opening week, the league announced Monday, Nov. 17 while also grabbing College Sports Madness MEAC Player of the Week honors after week one.
NCCU returns 8 letterwinners and three starters this season from a squad that went 11-19 overall in 6-10 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play, finishing ninth in the regular season a year ago.

Vanessa Taylor enters her third season at NCCU and holds a 14-47 career record with the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles were picked to finish tenth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference preseason poll by the league's coaches and sports information directors.
After being named to the 2013-14 MEAC third-team, Davis was selected to repeat on the pre-season All-MEAC Third Team.
