Box Score 2 BUIES CREEK, N.C. – North Carolina Central University volleyball suffered two losses during opening day of the 2013 Campbell Hampton Inn of Holly Springs Invitational falling to the host Camels 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-12) and Georgetown (25-17, 25-9, 25-23) on Friday, Sept. 6 in Buies Creek N.C.
During the two contests senior
Kalin Russell and junior
Ashley McCarthy led the Eagles offense with eight kills apiece while collecting three and four blocks respectively on the defensive end.
Junior Da'sha Brown and freshman
Kelsey Murphy added an additional seven and six kills during the match-ups while Murphy dug 12 digs for NCCU.
Junior setter
Alice Genna distributed 22 assists on the day for the Eagles including 15 digs on the defensive end.
NCCU returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 7 during day two of the Campbell Invitational taking on Indina State at 11 a.m.
