NCCU VOLLEYBALL DROPS 3-0 MATCH TO ECU DURING DAY ONE OF ELON CLASSIC

Russell and McCarthy Lead Eagles on the Net

Box Score ELON, N.C. – North Carolina Central University volleyball team suffered a road loss during opening day of the 2013 Elon Phoenix Classic, falling to East Carolina 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-19) on Friday, Sept. 13 in Alumni Gymnasium in Elon, N.C.
 
Senior Kalin Russell lead the Eagles with six kills on ten attempts with one block assist, while junior Ashley McCarthy contributed two solo blocks, four block assists and two kills.

Junior Da'sha Brown added five additional kills while junior Alice Genna and sophomore Melissa Rabell Pineiro distributed eight assists a piece for NCCU

NCCU returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 14 during day two of the Classic taking on the host Elon Phoenix at 12:30 p.m., and the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m.
