DURHAM, N.C. - For the third consecutive season, the North Carolina Central University men’s tennis team will open its regular season with a matchup against the No. 9 Duke Blue Devils in the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center, Sunday, Feb. 10, at 5:00 p.m.
The Eagles begin the 2013 season with four returners: senior Jose Fabara (Quito, Ecuador), sophomore Fabrice George (Kingstown, St Vincent), sophomore Jamal Hoyte (Nassau, Bahamas), and sophomore Tamina Kienka (Lagos, Nigeria). They also bring in three newcomers: junior Stephan Charles-Donatien (Serreguemines, France), junior Daniil Gerasimov (Belgorod, Russia), and freshman Thomas Persico (Leeds, England).
Last year, the Eagles dropped their season-opener to their crosstown foe with a 7-0 loss. However, with the return of four student-athletes and the addition of three newcomers, the Eagles look to reconcile for last year’s loss and improve upon their 4-10 record from the 2012 campaign.
