NORFOLK, Va. – North Carolina Central University freshman forward
Tisha Dixon has been selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
During the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3, Dixon amassed 20 points, 20 rebounds, three steals and an assist in two games, averaging 10.0 points and 10.0 boards per outing.
A native of Kinston, N.C., Dixon notched her second double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds at Delaware State on Saturday (Feb. 2).
During her freshman season, Dixon ranks sixth in the MEAC with 8.2 rebounds per contest, and is the only rookie among the top 20 rebounders in the league. She also averages 7.2 points per game and leads the Lady Eagles with 10 blocked shots.
This is Dixon’s first MEAC Rookie of the Week award.
