CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) –The North Carolina Central University men’s tennis team drop a 4-0 decision over fellow Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Norfolk State University on Saturday, Feb. 23 in Chapel Hill, N.C. at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
In the doubles competition, Jose Fabara and Daniil Gerasimov were defeated by Spartans Peter Ramstromer-Pello and Dzmitry Zyhmantoyich (8-3). At the No. 2 spot, Thomas Persico and Fabrice George lost to NSU’s Robin Riethmueller and Igor Braga (8-2).
Thomas competed in the No. 1 singles position against Zyhmantovich falling, 6-0, 5-0. In the No. 4 slot, George fell to Ramstromer-Pello, 6-3, 6-3 and Jamal Hoyte fell to Samuel Lemberger, 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 6 spot.
NCCU falls to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the MEAC while NSU improves to 4-5 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
