DURHAM, N.C. The North Carolina Central University women's basketball team continues home action as the Lady Eagles (4-4) host the Western Carolina Catamounts (6-3) on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. in McDougald-McLendon Gym. Admission is Free.

Last Time Out
  • Junior Racquel Davis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) lead the way offensively for the North Carolina Central University women's basketball team as the Lady Eagles (4-4) dropped their second-straight contest falling to the Campbell University Lady Camels (6-2), 56-45, on Monday, Dec. 16 inside McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium.
  • Davis lead all-scorers with 16 points, shooting 5-for-8 from the field and 6-for-8 from the free throw line, while also pulling down a team-best nine boards and one steal.
  • As a team, NCCU shot 16-for-48 from the field (33.3%), 11-for-16 from the foul line (68.8%) and 2-for-13 from behind the arc (15.4%), while collecting 32 rebounds, 12 assists, four blocks and eight steals.

Freeman File
  • NCCU redshirt senior Jessica Freeman has lead the Lady Eagles in scoring for five of their eight match-ups this season.
  • The Charlotte, N.C., native averages 13.5 points per game, shooting 37-for-113 from the field (.327), 15-for-50 from behind the arc (.300) and 19-for-22 from the free throw line (.864).
  • Freeman earned a season-high 24 on Nov. 23 during a 76-65 victory over UNC Asheville.

Davis on the Double
  • Junior Racquel Davis has collected three double-doubles this season (at Presbyterian, at South Florida and vs. Gardner-Webb), averaging 12.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per contest.
  • Davis earned a season-best 15 rebounds at Presbyterian (Nov. 14) and 17 points versus Gardner-Webb (11/25).

Scouting the Catamounts
  • Current six-game winning streak is the longest for Western Carolina since the Catamounts won 10 straight in 2009 - during that stretch, WCU also swept through the SoCon Tournament and defeated College of Charleston 101-87 to claim the 2009 SoCon Tournament crown.
  • The six-game winning streak is also the longest win streak of WCU Head Coach Karen Middleton's five-year tenure at WCU.
  • Three players scored in double figures as Western Carolina women's basketball (2-2) defeated North Carolina Central (0-4) 67-55 Tuesday in the Ramsey Center. 
  • Western Carolina is 2-3 in road games this season.
  • In the last six games, Western Carolina is outscoring opponents by a 7.8 scoring margin and outscoring teams 190 to 133 in the second half.
  • NCCU assistant coach Kendra Eaton is a former Western Carolina women's basketball player and was a member of the 2009 Southern Conference Tournament Champion team.
