Ashley McCarthy, the North Carolina Central University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-17) match to the South Carolina State University Lady Bulldogs on Friday, Nov. 8 in Orangeburg, S.C., at Dukes Gymnasium.
Russell earned a team-best 13 kills on 26 attempts, hitting .385, McCarthy added 10 kills on 17 attempts, finishing with a .471 hitting percentage while each contributed four digs and McCarthy seized two service aces along with one block.

Kelsey Murphy led NCCU with eight digs.
As a team, NCCU collected 40 kills on 92 attempts, hitting .250. The Eagles seized 27 digs, 34 assists, three service aces and one team block.
SCSU was led by Desire Waller who led the match with 18 kills on 25 attempts, with only one error, Melanie Williams who dish 30 assists and Victoria Ferguson who dug eight Eagle attacks.
Collectively, the Lady Bulldogs amassed 45 kills on 89 attempts, with a .419 hitting percentage, collected 36 assists, 33 digs, eight service aces and three team blocks.
NCCU wraps up the 2013 regular-season on Sunday, Nov. 10 in Savannah, Ga., taking on the Savannah State Tigers at 1 p.m.
