THE GAME
North Carolina Central University returns home on "Veterans Day" for the first of 15 contests inside the friendly confines of McDougald-McLendon Gym, where the Eagles are 36-13 since fifth year head coach LeVelle Moton took over the program. The maroon and gray are coming off a 2012-13 campaign where they finished 12-2 (.857 winning percentage) in the Bull City. NCCU is 4-0 in home openers under Moton.
THE SERIES
NCCU and Johnson and Wales have met in each of the past three seasons with the Eagles owning a 3-0 lead in the series. The Eagles average margin over victory in this series is 65.7 points a contest that included a 109-46 victory on Nov. 12, 2013. The Wildcats have been the maroon and gray's home opener each of the last three seasons.
NCCU SPORTS NETWORK
The NCCU Sports Network will offer both a video and audio live stream for Monday night affair beginning with the Denny's of Durham Pregame Show at 6:45 p.m. Play-by-play voice of the NCCU Sports Network Chris Hooks along with color analyst Joe Simmons will call the action from McDougald-McLendon Gym. Fans can watch the live action for just $8.95 per game or purchase the men's or women's basketball package for $85 (each) or the entire package for $150. The audio portion of the broadcast is free for all fans to enjoy.
JOHNSON AND WALES UNIVERSITY "WILDCATS"
Johnson and Wales University is a private, nonprofit NEASC-accredited institution with four campuses nationwide (Providence, R.I., Miami, Fla., Denver, Colo., and Charlotte, N.C.) with more than 17,000 students from nearly 100 countries with 40-plus undergraduate, graduate online, continuing education, and accelerated programs in arts and sciences, business, culinary arts, hospitality, technology, and education. The Charlotte campus, established in 2004, is a blend of modern and traditional in an intimate university setting. The athletics program competes in the Division II level of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, and enters Monday night's affair with a 2-2 record on the year following 79-58 home victory on Friday night over Christendom. In that contest the Wildcats had five players in double figures led by junior DeQuincey Bennett who dropped in 15 points on 5-of-19 shooting. Bennett also finished 3-for-12 from three-point range. Off-the-bench Joshua Cohen contributed 14 points, while sophomore guard Nick Crawford added 13 points along with Clarence Ellis and Duane Chisholm who scored 10 points in the win. NCCU is the first of four NCAA Division I programs (Mercer, Wofford, and Davidson) that the Wildcats will face this season. After four games JWU has five student-athletes who average double figures led by Bennett's 16.0 points per game. Cohen is second on the roster averaging 13.5 points a contest. As a team, the Wildcats shoot 32.3 percent from three-point range having attempted nearly 25 threes per game. Defensively, JWU averages 14.5 steals per game as well.

The Eagles head east to battle Campbell University on Monday, Nov. 18 at 7:00 p.m. from the John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center in Buies Creek, N.C. This will mark the first matchup between these two programs since the maroon and gray became official members of the NCAA Division I level. This is game number two of the 2013 Global Sports Hoops Classic with the final two matchups taking place on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at NC State at 7:00 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 22 vs. Appalachian State at 7:00 p.m.
COUNTDOWN TO HISTORY, SIX AND COUNTING FOR POOBIE
With his 4 helpers in the 74-61 defeat to Cincinnati, Emanuel Chapman, inches closer to first place on the all-time list. The Raleigh, N.C. native currently has 404 career assists at NCCU and needs 5 to tie the school record for assists, currently held by Michael Wright (80-81, 82-85) who collected 409 assists in his maroon and gray career. Chapman became the second Eagle in school history to rack up 400 assists. Chapman recorded 180 dimes last year, eclipsing his 162 helpers from the 2011-12 season, which is the most since Donald Sinclair dished out 200 helpers in the 1979-80 campaign.
INGRAM'S 27 POINTS, NOT THE FIRST TIME
In the season-opening loss to Cincinnati on Friday, Nov. 8 senior guard Jeremy Ingram ignited NCCU's comeback against the might Bearcats of Cincinnati by scoring 19 points in the second half that included 6-of-7 shooting from the field. The Queen City product finished with a game-high 27 points despite fouling out with approximately six minutes remaining. Ingram has scored exactly 27 points three times in his Eagle career. The first time occured on Jan. 16, 2012 in a win over Howard, with the second coming on Dec. 22, 2012 at Utah Valley. Ingram's career-high is 32 points which he amassed on Feb. 11, 2013 in an 81-75 win over Bethune-Cookman. Ingram has collected 844 points in his career and needs 156 to become the 35th member of the 1,000 point club at NCCU.
