PETERSBURG, Va. – North Carolina Central University junior transfer Glendon Mabe and junior Spencer Jones finished among the top 10 to earn all-tournament team honors at the Trojan Fall Golf Classic, hosted by Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va.

Mabe posted scores of 77 and 76 on the par-72, 6,607-yard Dogwood Trace Golf Club to tie for fourth place with a final tally of 153 (+9).

Jones followed up a first-round 81 with a team-best 75 to tie for ninth place with a score of 156 (+12).

As a team, NCCU was in fifth place after posting a score of 320 on day one, but the Eagles recorded their second-best round of the season with a 308 to finish in second place in the eight-team tournament field.

NCCU junior Andre Jones shaved four strokes off of his opening-round 81 by shooting a 77 on day two for a 12th-place tie at 158 (+14).

Rookie Michael Wilson carded marks of 81 and 80 to place 16th with a total score of 161 (+17), while fellow freshman Garreth Carpenter placed in a tie for 29th with scores of 86 and 83.

NCCU junior Walter Batts equaled a career-low round with an 84 on day one, finishing the tournament in 35th place.

The Eagles close out the fall portion of the 2012-13 schedule on Nov. 10-11 at the Savannah State Fall Tiger Invitational at Crosswinds Golf Club in Savannah, Ga.
