PALKO AND CHATMAN SERVE UP TWO SINGLES WINS IN LOSS TO UNC ASHEVILLE

Lady Eagles drop a 4-3 decision to the Lady Bulldogs

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – In their second match of the season, No. 1 singles player Olesya Palko and No. 2 Cameron Chatman earned two singles wins in North Carolina Central University’s 4-3 loss to the Lady Bulldogs of UNC Asheville on Sunday, Feb. 6 in Asheville, N.C., in the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center.

NCCU Palko opened singles play with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Britney Cloer, as Chatman forced Devon Cavanaugh to retirement to earn her victory.
 
With UNC Asheville reduced to a five-woman roster, NCCU obtained a third win with a No. 6 singles default victory.
 
The Lady Eagles drop to 0-2 on the season.
 
NCCU returns to the courts on Saturday, Feb. 12 against Winston-Salem State in Winston-Salem, N.C.
