DURHAM, N.C. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) – Oleysa Palko and
Cameron Chatman were unbeaten for North Carolina Central University on Saturday afternoon, but it was not enough for the Lady Eagles in a 5-2 setback to Longwood University on the NCCU Tennis Courts.
Palko and Chatman paired up at No. 1 doubles to defeat Longwood’s top duo of Zsofia Jakab and Marta Pinyol by a score of 8-4. Longwood won the other two doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
When the NCCU pair split up for singles play, their success continued. Palko defeated Jakab at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, while Chatman downed Pinyol, 6-3, 6-3. Chatman remains undefeated in singles competition this spring with a 3-0 record.
Longwood captured victories at the remaining singles spots for its first win of the season (1-2).
NCCU returns to the courts on Saturday, Feb. 26 to host East Carolina University at 5 p.m.
