FARMVILLE, Va. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) - The North Carolina Central University women's tennis team closed out its most successful season since moving to NCAA Division I competition with a 4-0 setback to Longwood University on the final day of the 2010 Independent Tournament in Farmville, Va.
The loss is the 15th of the season for the Lady Eagles, but their 11 victories is more than the two previous seasons of Division I play combined (7).
NCCU freshman Olesya Palko was selected to the Independent All-Tournament Team as she earned two doubles victories and a No. 1 singles win over the weekend.
During Saturday's tournament action, NCCU defeated Winston-Salem State, 4-1, and lost to Seattle, 4-0.
