EAGLES DROP 5-2 DECISION TO WESTERN CAROLINA

Palko and Chatman Earn Singles Wins

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to the Catamounts of Western Carolina Wednesday, April 14 in Cullowhee, N.C. The Eagles end the regular season 10-13.

NCCU fell during all three doubles matches, forfeiting the doubles point.

During singles play, the Eagles appeared to strike back with vengeance taking the No. 1 and No. 2 wins.

Eagles' freshman Olesya Palko defeated Izabella Glinska, 6-4, 6-1 as the No. 1 singles player. Sophomore Cameron Chatman beat Amanda Massey, 6-2, 6-1 as the Eagles No. 2 singles player.

The Eagles will travel to Farmville, Va. April 17-18 for the 2010 Independent Tournament on the Longwood University campus.
