NCCU TENNIS PREPARES FOR INDEPENDENT TOURNAMENT

DURHAM, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University men's tennis team will conclude the 2009-10 season this at two-day 2010 Independent Tournament, being held April 15-16 on the Longwood University campus in Farmville, Va.

On the first day of competition, the Eagles will face the Winston-Salem State Rams at 11:30 a.m. and the Highlanders of NJIT at 3:30 p.m., both matches will be held on the Barlow Courts.

The second day of competition, NCCU will face the Seattle Redhawks at 8:30 a.m. and the Lancers of Longwood at 5:00 p.m. on the Lancer Courts.

During doubles competition, sophomore Jack Waissen and junior Trey Chatman will play as the No. 1 doubles team. No. 2 doubles teammates will consist of sophomores Jose Fabara and Alejandro Espitia. Closing out doubles play in the No. 3 spot are seniors Bryan Jackson and Stephen Allsop.

For singles competition, Waissen will play in the No. 1 spot. Espitia will play as the No. 2 singles, Chatman will play in the No. 3 spot. Fabara will play as the No. 4 singles player, the No. 5 spot will be held by Jackson and Allsop will close-out singles play in the No. 6 position.
