Luke D’Alessio comes to NCCU with 16 seasons of head coaching experience and five years as an assistant.  His last stop was as an assistant at Siena College from 2013-15.  While at Siena and Loyola University from 2010-13 he was tasked as the primary recruiter.  D’Alessio also spent a season abroad, coaching the UCC Blue Demons to a semi-final appearance in the National Cup in Ireland in 2010.
  
D’Alessio is no stranger to NCCU as he spent 10 seasons with Bowie State University from 1999-2009, compiling a 199-96 record as a head coach.  While with the Bulldogs, he captured multiple CIAA division championships, a conference championship in 2003, and made three consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II Tournament, including an appearance in the NCAA Division II Final Four in 2003.
 
Before coaching at Bowie State, D’Alessio was the head coach at the Community College of Baltimore-Catonsville for six seasons from 1993-99 with a 124-52 overall record.  While there he coached his team to two Maryland JUCO Tournament titles and a conference title, and made a national Elite Eight appearance as well.
 
D’Alessio is a graduate of The Catholic University of America where he played point guard and served as a co-captain, and later returned as an assistant coach from 1986-1992.
