Dan Tharp comes to NCCU with three years of experience as an assistant coach, last with Clarendon College during the 2015-16 season. While at Clarendon and Baton Rouge Community College, he worked as a video coordinator and prepared scouting reports. He also helped with recruiting, arranging travel, and monitoring academic performance of student-athletes.
Before heading to Baton Rouge, Tharp spent a season with the University of Jamestown as an assistant coach, as well as the head coach of the junior varsity program from 2013-14. He is a graduate of the University of South Dakota, and while there served as a student assistant, and then as a graduate assistant with the men’s basketball program.
