Christian Gray comes to North Carolina Central University from an assistant coaching role at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, North Carolina and a player development role at Franklin Academy in Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Prior to coaching, Gray earned a bachelor of arts in psychology at William Peace University in 2014, and he is currently pursuing a masters at North Carolina State University in the Department of Youth, Family and Community Sciences with a concentration in Youth Development and Leadership.

Outside of basketball, Gray leads an organization named DIVERSE (Dedicated Individuals who Value Education, Relationships, Success, and Effort) which helps young minority men toward academic success and leadership through basketball training and development.
