Biography
As a Redshirt Junior (2020-21)
Played 10 games with one start, and averaged 12.1 minutes per game. Averaged 3.8 points per contest, and shot 58.3 percent (14-for-24) from the field. Scored a total of 38 points with 16 rebounds. Scored season-highs of eight points in back-to-back contests against Carver on Jan. 29, and South Carolina State on Feb. 1. Pulled down a season-best five boards against Carver.
Prior to NCCU:
Chicago State (2017-19): Played 57 games with 36 starts in two seasons, and totaled 380 points. Shot 41.5 percent from the floor with 139 made field goals. Averaged 8.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest during the 2018-19 season as a sophomore. Scored a career-high 20 points as a freshman at UT Rio Grande Valley with nine field goals. Scored in double-figures nine times as a sophomore with a season-high 19 points at Illinois State.
High School (Kenwood): Averaged eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks as a senior, and led his league in blocked shots. Helped the Broncos to a 21-8 record and a 4A regional championship that season as well. Scored 16 points with eight boards for the South/Central team in the 2017 Chicago Public League Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game.
Personal: Born in Chicago, Illinois. Parents are John Bowles IV and Iretha Brown. Enjoys music, basketball, fashion, and collecting sneakers. Majoring in psychology at NCCU.
