North Carolina Central University Athletics

As a Senior (2018-19)
Appeared in 23 games and started one, and averaged 6.4 minutes per game.  Scored 32 points with 13 rebounds, and shot 31.3 percent from the field.  Scored a season-high 10 points and matched a career-high with three assists against Warren Wilson on November 18.  Came back from injury and contributed five points including a three-pointer in the quarterfinal of the MEAC Tournament against Delaware State on March 14 after missing seven games.

As a Junior (2017-18)
Played 23 games and started 15, averaging 12.0 minutes per game.  Reached career-highs with 13 points against Maryland Eastern Shore (Feb. 17) and tallied five rebounds twice against North Carolina A&T (March 1) and Hampton in the MEAC Championship (March 10).  Scored 12 points in the championship game with a pair of three-pointers.  Shot 75.9 percent from the free throw line (22-29).

As a Sophomore (2016-17)
Played 11 games and totaled 22 minutes.  Shot 8-for-10 from the free throw line, and grabbed six total rebounds with an assist and a steal.  Grabbed two rebounds twice, against Montreat (Dec. 30) and against Md. Eastern Shore (March 10).

Prior to NCCU:
Transferred in from the Naval Academy, and was a member of the Superintendent’s List.  Was a four-year varsity player in high school basketball at Cary Academy where he finished as a 1,000+-point scorer and set the school record for scoring in his senior year with 27.1 points per game.  Was a two-time All-Conference selection.

Personal: Parents are Rick and Jeanne Guerra.  Born on Aug. 9, 1995.  Likes weightlifting, reading, and his dog Jack.  Interesting facts: He once completed a 100-mile ultramarathon for charity that required over 30 hours of continuous running.  He was also a middle school teammate of current NCCU men’s basketball team manager and tennis student-athlete Dillon Strepay.
